Hey runners, set your Tivo’s to record the 2006 USA Cross Country Championships on ESPN2 (Sunday Feb 19th, 11:00pm CST).
The 2006 USA Cross Country Championships and World Cross Country Team Trials, which will be conducted in New York City’s famed Van Cortlandt Park on February 18-19, 2006, features the top distance runners in the USA vying for a spot on the team that will represent the USA at the 2006 IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Japan. The weekend will also include the USA Masters 8 km Cross Country Championships.

i didnt get to see the XC race, but i did however trek up to lincoln to see the Big XII indoor championship. it was a great time. i spent the day with my friend mike and watched the whole meet on saturday. it was a blast. i also ran in our st. patrick’s day parade down in manhattan. it was a 10k, and it kicked my ass. i ran a 45, not bad for having absolutely no training. one reason i ran it was not to be competetive, but to have fun and be around some fellow runners again. the main reason im beginning to realize was to give myself a slap in the face. i am currently trainig for a half marathon with a kid that i live next to. should be a lot of fun. still, im not looking to be competetive, just looking for a good time (if you call 13 miles a good time). ill keep you posted.
